Sure, there are tons of free collaboration sites out there (http://tinyurl.com/6g854m), but EtherPad was perfect for QUICKLY setting up SIMPLE collaboration for a group of people all over the tech-savy spectrum. Only flaw: your pad isn't secure. Then again, if anyone wants to know who's bringing the sunscreen, help yourself. Again, I'm looking forward to using it in my 7th grade classroom in the fall.
